Our Christmas Present to Ourselves - 4D Scan!

Sorry that we haven't posted much recently, we have both been very busy and there hasn't been any big updates until today. For Christmas Eve, we had booked an appointment for a 4D scan from Annerly and it went fantastic. At first, our little girl was being shy and didn't want to face us. We got lots of photos of her arms and fingers but it wasn't until the end that she decided to show her face. Even then, she seemed to enjoy covering her face with her cute little hands. She did show us her lovely smile and we were able to see her little nose and her juicy lips. It was a great feeling seeing our little baby like this and we can't wait until we can see her out in the real world. 16 more weeks to go!

The Baby's gender is.......

We went to visit Dr. Wong Wai Chung (specialist in obstetrics & gynacology) today to do an ultrasound so we can see our wonderful little baby and get some scans done. We were able to finally out the sex of the baby and it's a.......girl! The most important part is that she's a healthy girl and is doing great inside Cindy's tummy. Although we were  a bit worried that Cindy wasn't gaining much weight, the baby girl is actually a bit overweight (Bryan loves it as he wants a fat baby). The expected due date is between April 8-11 and everything seems to be going well.

Cindy has been doing great and is being more active. Not only is she walking more and getting more exercise in, she has also started to do prenatal yoga. What a wonderful mum she will be!

Here are some of the pictures from the ultrasound:

The First Few Purchases

We decided to hold off on buying baby stuff until after we visit the Baby Fair in HK in January....but Cindy couldn't resist buying some cute clothes from Baby Gap. I guess this is technically our first baby item that we have purchased that wasn't a book. Since we found out, we have been looking at many baby shops as we want to be fully prepared, but we just wanted to shop around and compare prices. We know what we need to buy and we are just seeing what products we prefer. Anyways, after buying three little outfits, we ended up at Eugene Baby in Mong Kok East and saw a wonderful baby journal. We originally saw a few journals that were either boy specific or girl specific and we wanted to buy it after we found out the sex of the baby, but this journal really caught our eye. It's from Mama & Papas and we feel that it's a fantastic way to store the precious moments at the beginning of our child's life.

We both can't wait to buy more great things!

Week 20 - Woah, we're half way there, woah, livin' on a prayer!

So here we are, it's week 20! As Bon Jovi said it best "we're half way there, woah!"

20 weeks has passed and 20 more to go! This Monday we will go to have an ultrasound to finally see the sex of the baby. We are both excited and can't wait. Cindy has been getting bigger and she has been feeling more little kicks and movements in her tummy; she is always smiling whenever she can feel the baby. She gained a bit of weight and is now currently at 50kgs.

I wanted to surprise her for the halfway mark, so I bought her 20 carnation flowers and placed them at home. I rarely get her flowers so she was definitely shocked and happy to see them as she opened the door.

To end off this post, here is a great classic song!

Week 19

This is week 19! I can feel that my tummy is getting bigger and it's heavier. Usually I complained that the others were walking too slow, but now I am the one who feels that I need to slow down when walking!

The baby is the size of a mango (13.4-15.2cm) now. Most importantly, I felt it move around this week!!! It's lazy as me, so it mostly moves at night but stays asleep during the day time . Sometimes part of my tummy just becomes hard, and I know my lovely baby is turning around inside me. :) The feeling is amazing!!

Next week we are going to check if it is a boy or a girl. Unfortunately what we thought was going to be an ultrasound last week was only just a routine prenatal check up. I wish the baby can cooperate so that we can decide blue or pink in the future hehehe~

Week 18

Another week has passed and we are now officially on our 18th week starting November 8, 2013. This is a big week for us as we will we go for our 4th prenatal check up at Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Hong Kong. For this check up, we will have a chance to see if our baby will be either a boy or a girl. After much discussion, we decided that we would like to know the sex of our baby before he or she comes into this world. So what do you guys think, will it be a boy or a girl?

Currently our baby is the size of a bell pepper, which is roughly 12-14cm. So here is Cindy holding up a green bell pepper!

Her official weight hasn't changed, but she is surely eating a lot more! Maybe next week we will see some added weight, maybe she needs to poo less :D

So week 17 is here, November 1st, 2013, and we finally got a scale (temporary non digital) and decided to have some fun.

Currently, the size of the baby is roughly the size of an onion and 11.4 to 12.7cm so here is Cindy holding an onion!

And the official weight is at 47kg/105lbs!

The First Scan

We had our first ultrasound scan at 6 weeks to ensure everything was ok. This was the first time we were able to see our little baby, and when I say little I mean 1.14cm little! This was taken on August 24th, 2013 at St. Theresa Hospoital Hong Kong.

Hello everyone!

This will be my second official blog, my first being www.studentinkorea.blogspot.com, that will keep track of one of the biggest event in my life; my first child. Wow! Lots of things have been happening in the past year and I am happy to announce that as of this post, my wife, Cindy, is currently 16 weeks and 5 days pregnant. I can only say that when finding out about the pregnancy, I had a lot of emotions going through my head. I can not be happier and I am very excited about it. I am eager to welcome a third person to our family and will love him or her with all my heart.

I do wish I had started this blog earlier, perhaps when we first found out that we will be parents, but it's better late then never. This blog will serve as a way to update our family and friends about how Cindy and I are doing up until and after the birth of our baby. I will update as often as possible and share stories as the weeks, months and hopefully years pass by. One thing I look forward for is that I can one day show this blog to my future child and let him/her know the days leading up to their birth and the months after. The joyous moments of planning and preparing things and how life for Cindy and I was like.

When you are reading this, my child, I only want you to know that my love for you has always started since before you took your first breath and will always continue to be so until I take my last breath.

And so like most pregnancies, here is where it all starts...
